St. Peter`s Station (Monkwearmouth)
St. Peter`s Station is the railway station that serves Monkwearmouth.
It is named after the Anglo-Saxon church and monastery of St. Peter, which is a few minutes walk from the station.
The station is part of the suburban Metro system, based on Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Trains come from Newcastle, and continue to Sunderland.
The former Monkwearmouth Station is in an impressibe building now used as a transport museum.
