Philips Park (Manchester)

Philips Park is an urban park in Manchester.

The main entrance is in Stuart Street.

Opened in 1846, it was designed by Joshua Major to cope with "the promenading of large numbers of persons", and was the first public park in Manchester. The park was named after Mark Philips MP, who was one of the leading park campaigners.

The River Medlock runs through the park.
