West Ham Park (London)
West Ham Park is a large public park in London.
The main entrance is in Upton Lane in West Ham.
The land was originally part of the Upton House estate, the earliest documentary reference to which is in 1566.The philanthropist Dr. John Fothergill acquired it in 1762 with the intention of creating a botanical garden.
West Ham Park was the first open space to be purchased by the City of London and was opened by the Lord Mayor in 1874.
