St. James the Less, Pimlico (London)
St. James the Less, Pimlico is one of the many fascinating churches in London.
It is situated in Thorndike Street in Pimlico, on the Lillington Gardens Estate behind Vauxhall Bridge Road.
St. James was commissioned and paid for by the three Monk sisters, daughters of the Bishop of Gloucester, in 1859. They chose G. E. Street as the architect.
There is a tall campanile and a Continental apse.
A painting after G. F. Watts can be found above the chancel arch.
