Lincoln`s Inn Fields (London)
Lincoln`s Inn Fields is a superb garden square in London.
It is the largest square in London.
There has been a public open space here since at least the 12th century, since when it has been used for duelling, jousting and the occasional public execution.
During the 17th century, the square was laid out formally, and it was enclosed under an Act of Parliament in 1735.
The Royal Canadian Air Force used the fields as a camp during the Seciond World War.
