Oriel Chambers (Liverpool)

Oriel Chambers constitutes an important building in the heart of Liverpool.

It was built in 1864 and designed by Peter Ellis.

As is suggested by the name, there was use of oriel windows in order to provide good daylight.

At the time it was built, there was considerable opposition to the building, but its futuristic qualities later came to be admired.
