Liverpool Central Station (Liverpool)
Liverpool Central is one of the most important railway stations in the thriving city of Liverpool, the main one being Lime Street Station.
It is situated in the centre of the city, and replaced a station built in 1874 by John Fowler but later demolished.
Trains come to Liverpool Central from Manchester and Warrington, and the line continues to Bootle and Southport.
Another line runs beneath the River Mersey to Birkenhead.
