Usher Gallery (Lincoln)

The Usher Gallery is an outstanding gallery in [/locale/lincoln/.

It is situated in Lindum Road.

The collection is based on that of the Lincoln jeweller James Ward Usher, who on his death in 1921 left his clocks, watches, coins, silver, enamels, miniatures and ceramics to the city, along with money to build a gallery.

The architect was Sir Reginald Blomfield, who had designed the Menin Gate at Ypres.

Among the artists whose works may be found here are John Piper, Sir Alfred Munnings, John Ferneley and Peter de Wint.
