True`s Yard (Kings Lynn)
True`s Yard is a fascinating attraction at the ancient town of Kings Lynn in Norfolk.
It is situated in North Street.
Housed in a pair of tiny fishermen`s cottages, True`s Yard is the town`s fishing heritage museum. They and their families were squeezed into these cramped dwellings, although they were engaged in creating the wealth which can be seen throughout Kings Lynn.
One of the cottages is fitted out in the style of the 1850s, and the other as it would have been in the 1920s. Most of the other cottages were demolished in the 1930s under a slum clearance programme.
There is a fascinating collection of fishing memorabilia.
