Greyfriars Tower (Kings Lynn)
Greyfriars Tower is one of the best known landmarks in the historic old Norfolk town of Kings Lynn.
It stands in St. James Street, not far from the town centre.
The Greyfriars was a friary, founded by the Franciscans, who wore grey habits, in the 13th century. It was enlarged in the early 14th century.
The tall tower survives, the rest having been demolished after the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
Today, the tower stands in a pleasant garden.
