St. Marys Church (Kersey)

St. Marys is the magnificent parish church of the outstandingly pretty Suffolk village of Kersey.

The tower, with its flint flushwork, stands on top of the hill at one end of the village, and dominates views of the countryside around Hadleigh.

The church dates from the 14th century, and has an outstanding seven bay arcade in the North aisle, as well as a fine hammerbeam roof.

The South porch has a wooden ceiling, with carved panels of intricate design.

In the North aisle is a collection of pieces of stone, bosses, corbels etc, which have probably been collected at some point from rebuildings at various churches.
