Jesmond Dene (Jesmond)
Jesmond Dene is a Victorian park at Jesmond, now a suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The main entrance is in Red Walk.
Jesmond Dene originated as the garden belonging to the Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong. He gave it to the people of Newcastle in 1884.
It is a steep wooded valley one and a half miles long, through which the River Ouseburn flows over man-made rapids and waterfalls.
