Waterworks Museum (Hereford)

The Waterworks Museum is an interesting feature of the historic cathedral city of Hereford.

It is situated off Broomy Hill, not far from the city centre.

The museum is in the city`s Victorian water pumping station, with its working steam engines, and tells the story of drinking water.

It features various forms of pumping used from 1850 to 2000, including a windpump, overshot water wheel, pelton wheel and three other water turbines.

There is a visitor centre, along with refreshments and picnic tables.
