Victoria Footbridge (Hereford)
The Victoria Footbridge is an attractive feature of the ancient cathedral city of Hereford.
The footbridge crosses the River Wye, a little downstream from the mediaeval Wye Bridge.
A walk from one bridge to another takes one along a footpath beside the river, through Bishops Meadow.
The bridge is a suspension bridge which replaced a ferry. It was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
On the city site of the footbridge is Castle Green, a pleasant open space on the site of the castle bailey.
