Hastings Castle (Hastings)
Hastings Castle is a famous castle at Hastings in Sussex.
The first castle here was a wooden one constructed in 1069, having been brought over from Normandy. This is now under the sea.
It was replaced by a stone castle in 1086 by Robert, Count Of Eu.
The ruins today are mostly of the 13th century chapel of St. Mary.
The castle, which stands in a small park overlooking the Old Town, now contains "The 1066 Story".
