Fishermen`s Museum (Hastings)

The Fishermen`s Museum is one of a number of maritime-based attractions in the Sussex resort of Hastings.

It is situated in Rock-a-Nore Road, in a building that was formerly the fishermen`s church.

Fishing has been an important part of the Hastings scene for centuries, and fishing boats are still lned up along the shore, while the tall net shops, used to store fishing nets, are weatherboarded and covered in pitch.

The museum shows these and other facets of the town`s fishing industry, including the lugger "Enterprise", built locally in 1909.
