Maritime Museum (Harwich)
The Maritime Museum is one of the fascinating attractions at the old Essex seaport of Harwich.
The building was originally the Low Lighthouse, designed by John Rennie and built in 1818.
It has been described as looking like a folly, or a cottage with a verandah and a squat tower.
The museum contains displays on both the Royal Navy and the Merchant Marine, and their relationships with Harwich.
