Guildford House (Guildford)
Guildford House is a historic house in Guildford.
It is situated in the High Street.
Guildford House was built as a Restoration town house in 1660, by John Child, a lawyer. It was later sold to John Martyr, the Mayor of Guildford.
The ground floor windows were made into a shopfront, but the upper floors retain their jolly originality.
The house became the town museum in the 1950s.
The upper floors are jettied out over the street, and there is a balcony over the front door.
