Windmill Cinema (Great Yarmouth)

The Windmill Cinema is one of a number of interesting entertainment buildings on the seafront at Great Yarmouth.

Originally named the Gem, it was opened in 1908, and was almost certainly the first purpose built seaside cinema in England.

The architect was Arthur S. Hewitt, who was also responsible for the Empire nearby.

The flat floor could also be used for variety performances.
