St. Oswalds Church (Grasmere)
St. Oswalds is the parish church of the little village of Grasmere in the Lake District.
Local legend insists that St. Oswald himself preached the gospel here in about 640, and there was certainly a church in the vicinity in the 8th century.
The present church dates back to the 13th century.
In the churchyard are buried the poet William Wordsworth, his wife Mary, his sister Dorothy and other members of his family.
Just outside the churchyard is a daffodil garden in Wordsworth's memory.
