Prince of Wales Pier (Falmouth)
Prince of Wales Pier is one of a dwindling number of English seaside piers, a fascinating and much loved institution.
It is situated at Falmouth in Cornwall, and is the only pleasure pier in the county.
The pier was built between 1903 and 1905, with a length of 300 feet, and the foundation stone was laid by the Prince of Wales, later King George V.
Queen Elizabeth II began her Golden Jubilee celebrations here in 2002, starting her nationwide tour by landing at the pier.
