Nelson Monument (Edinburgh)
The Nelson Monument is an interesting structure in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.
It is situated on Calton Hill.
The design is said to resemble an overgrown telescope, and is a monument to Britain`s great naval hero Lord Nelson.
There is also a time ball on the top, which like others drops at precisely 1pm. This allowed ships docked at Leith to adjust their chronometers.
