Lady Stair`s House (Edinburgh)
Lady Stair`s House is a historic house in Edinburgh.
It is reached by a short close from Lawnmarket, part of the Royal Mile.
The house was built in 1622, and was the home of Lady Stair, a great beauty, who died in 1731. She was the subject (as Lady Primrose) of Walter Scott`s story "My Aunt Margaret`s Mirror".
Today, Lady Stair`s House is a museum, concentrating on three of Scotland`s great writers, Burns, Scott and Stevenson.
