St. Margaret`s Church (Crick)
St. Margaret`s Church is the parish church of Crick in Northamptonshire.
It is situated close to the junction of the M1 and M45 motorways, and to the Grand Union Canal.
St. Margaret`s is a mediaeval church, dating back to the 13th century, and built of the local ironstone, largely in the Decorated style. It has a solid tower and a broach spire.
The church has a Norman font, and spectacular carvings of foliage, persons and monsters, including a Green Man.
By the South door is a portable burial shelter, to keep the vicar dry while burials were taking place.
For centuries the church building and upkeep was looked after by the Astley family.
