St. James the Greater Church (Colchester)

St. James the Greater Church is one of the mediaeval churches in the ancient town of Colchester in Essex.

It is situated at the top of East Hill, close to where it becomes High Street, by the site of the East Gate.

The North West angle of the nave is Norman, while the West tower dates from the 13th century.

The fine tall chancel and chancel chapels are faced with knapped flint.
