Emmanuel College (Cambridge)
Emmanuel College is one of the colleges that collectively make up Cambridge University.
It is situated in St. Andrew`s Street.
The college was founded by Puritans in 1584, to train priests in Calvinism.
Many early graduates emigrated to America, including John Harvard, who founded his own university at a place which he called Cambridge. The town`s first pastor was also from Emmanuel.
The delightful chapel was designed by the young Christopher Wren in 1667.
In the garden is a lake.
