The Quay (Burnham-on-Crouch)

The Quay is the name for the riverside stretch in the attractive little Essex town of Burnham-on-Crouch.

It is here that most of the interest lies, with yachts moored and people happily watching the world go by.

The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club has its clubhouse here. It was strikingly modern when built in 1931. The architect was Joseph Emberton.

The White Hart is the other prominent building on The Quay, and the Tourist Information Centre is also situated here, as well as a small town museum.

A ferry crosses the River Crouch to Wallasea Bay, saving a road journey of many miles.
