Snowshill Manor (Broadway)
Snowshill Manor is a fascinating house at Broadway, or rather on the hill overlooking Broadway.
It houses the collection of Charles Paget Wade of Yoxford in Suffolk, who inherited his family`s sugar estates in St. Kitts. With some of his new wealth he purchased Snowshill in 1919 and set about filling it with oddities collected from around the world.
An ancient Egyptian alabaster pot; a Bath chair; a Buddhist shrine; a drum which was used at Waterloo. Clocks; unusual musical instruments; walnut cabinets.
A veritable jackdaw`s treasure trove.
