SS "Great Britain" (Bristol)
SS "Great Britain" is one of the world`s most famous ships, and can be seen at Bristol.
She was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and launched at Bristol in 1843, being the first iron hulled ship to be powered by steam and screw propeller.
Nearby is a replica of another historic ship, the "Matthew", and adjoining these is the Maritime Heritage Centre, telling the story of shipbuilding in Bristol.
