Red Lodge (Bristol)
Red Lodge is a historic house in Bristol.
It is situated in Park Row.
Red Lodge was built on the crest of the hill overlooking the city centre by Sir John Younge in about 1590. It was the lodge for his mansion further down the hill, where he entertained Elizabeth I in 1574.
The Great Oak Room upstairs is quite magnificent, with carved wooden porch and stone chimneypiece.
The garden has been laid out in the style of a 16th century knot garden.
