St. Thomas Church (Brentwood)

St. Thomas is the parish church of the old coaching town of Brentwood in Essex.

It was built in the late Victorian period and opened in 1890, the architect being E. C. Lee.

The church replaced an 1835 building, which itself had replaced the old St. Thomas of Canterbury Chapel, which then became the National School. It is now a picturesque ruin.

The church has a tall and slender spire and four little spirelets.
