Town Hall (Braintree)
The Town Hall is the main civic building in the busy market town of Braintree in Essex.
It is situated in the centre of the town and was built in 1926 - 28, the architect being Vincent Harris. On market days, there is much activity around it.
The Town Hall is built of red brick with stone dressings, and has five bays and two storeys. There is a central open bell turret.
Inside the building there are wall paintings by Maurice Greiffenhagen.
Braintree`s Tourist Information Centre is housed within the Town Hall, as well as a district museum and art gallery.
