Hall i`th`Wood (Bolton)
Hall i`th`Wood is a splendid old house at Bolton in Greater Manchester.
It is situated off Green Way, itself off Crompton Way.
The house is a late mediaeval manor house, and contains 17th and 18th century furniture, paintings and decorative art.
Once the home of famous inventor Samuel Crompton, it was bought by William Lever, later Lord Leverhulme the soap magnate. He presented it to the town.
