Botanic Gardens (Belfast)

The Botanic Gardens are a historic urban park in Belfast.

The main entrance is in Stranmillis Road.

The Botanic Gardens were established in 1828, after similar gardens had been established in Dublin and Cork. They were private gardens until 1895.

There are important plant collections in the two Victorian glasshouses. The Palm House was designed by Charles Lanyon, and the Tropical Ravine, unique in the British Isles, by Charles McKimm.
