Beaumaris Pier (Beaumaris)
Beaumaris Pier is one of the seaside aspects of the attractive small town of Beaumaris, on Anglesey.
The pier was built in 1846, to cope with the increasing number of passenger steamers visiting from Liverpool. This was when communications on Anglesey were more primitive, before the arrival of decent roads and railways.
The view must be the most stunning of vistas from a pier, looking across the Menai Strait to the Snowdonia range on the Welsh mainland.
