Bath Spa Station (Bath)
Bath Spa Station serves the historic city of Bath, one of the most important tourist destinations in England.
It is a station on Isambard Kingdom Brunel's famous Great Western Railway, known to its admirers as "God's Wonderful Railway". This linked Paddington in London with Reading, Swindon, Bristol and the West Country.
Another railway, from a station known as Green Park, went from Bath to Bournemouth until closed in the 1960s. The name of the railway was the Somerset and Dorset, but it was affectionately known as the "Slow and Dirty".
This line's closure was one of the more senseless of the closures under the Marples Axe.
