American Museum in Britain (Bath)
The American Museum in Britain is a specialised museum at Bath.
It is situated at Claverton Manor.
The house was built in 1820 for Sir John Vivian by Sir Jeffry Wyatville, and was the scene of Winston Churchill`s first political speech in 1897.
The museum was founded in 1961 by two American enthusiasts, John Judkin and Dallas Pratt.
It contains examples of the excellent art of all styles created over the centuries in what is now the United States.
