Alexander Keiller Museum (Avebury)
The Alexander Keiller Museum is a fascinating attraction in the ancient village of Avebury.
It is housed in a spectacular 17th century thatched threshing barn with attached galleries.
The investigation of the Avebury Stone Circle was largely the work of archaeologist Alexander Keiller in the 1930s. He had become a millionaire through his promotion of marmalade, and his family company`s name is still familiar today.
The museum is operated by English Heritage.
