Wimborne Minster
Wimborne Minster, sometimes known just as Wimborne, is an attractive market town in Dorset, on the River Stour and 7 miles from Bournemouth.
The Minster is the church of St. Cuthberga, a Royal princess who was abbess in the 8th century. The present church dates partly back to the Norman period, and has two towers. It also contains a rare chained library.
There is a handsome square and attractive curving streets.
The 16th century Priest`s House contains the town museum.
The Model Village depicts the town in miniature.
Thomas Hardy lived in Wimborne Minster during the 1880s.
