Wilmslow
Wilmslow is a town in Cheshire, 11 miles from Manchester, which developed as a consequence of Manchester`s wealthy merchants being able to commute once the railway had been built.
The original village lies in the deep valley of the River Bollin.
St. Bartholomew`s Church, standing beside the river, dates mainly from the 16th century.
On the edge of the town is the Romany Caravan, which was the home of the broadcaster "Romany of the BBC", Rev. G. Bramwell Evans.
Wilmslow`s affluence has become so legendary that it is said that are more back garden swimming pools here than in any other British town.
Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Wilmslow for groups.
