Wethersfield
Wethersfield is a village in North West Essex, 2 miles from Finchingfield.
A hilly village, it is very attractive, like so many in this beautiful county. There are many timber framed houses and a Village Green at the centre.
Until the early 20th century, most of the inhabitants were engaged in straw plaiting.
St. Mary Magdalene Church dates back partly to the Norman period.
Just outside the village is a disused airfield.
