West Bay
West Bay is a coastal resort in Dorset, 2 miles from Bridport.
Originally known as Bridport Harbour, it was used for trade from that town. It still has a good sized harbour used by fishing boats.
It acquired the name West Bay when the railway arrived, and a tourism business started to flourish.
There are impressive sandstone cliffs on either side of the beach.
West Bay is now recognised by millions as the setting for "Broadchurch".
