Trentham
Trentham is a village in Staffordshire, on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent.
Trentham Gardens is a hugely popular pleasure park, on an estate formerly owned by the Duke of Sutherland, where there was a palatial 17th century mansion. There are formal gardens, a lake, woodlands, gardens and shopping village.
The church was designed by Charles Barry.
There is now a Monkey Forest in the grounds.
King Wulfhere of Mercia had a palace here in the 7th century.
