Tarn Hows
Tarn Hows is a very picturesque location in Cumbria, near Hawkshead in the Lake District.
The lake was originally two small lakes, but 19th century owners combined them.
The estate is now owned by the National Trust, having been presented to this organisation by Beatrix Potter, who purchased the land in 1930.
Surrounded by trees and fells, Tarn Hows is one of the most popular viewpoints in what is a beautiful part of England.
