Colin Crosby Heritage Tours

Southminster

Southminster is a small town in Essex, in the heart of the Dengie Hundred and 2 miles from Burnham-on-Crouch.

St. Leonard`s Church is an extraordinary mixture of styles, but has a good porch dating from the 15th century.

In the vestry is a collection of furniture which belonged to Lord Nelson. Dr. Alexander Scott, Vicar of Southminster, had been chaplain to Nelson and comforted him when he was dying on board H.M.S. Victory.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Southminster for groups.
