Ringstead

Ringstead is a village in Northamptonshire, 2 miles from Thrapston and on the River Nene.

St. Mary`s Church, with tower and spire, dates from the 12th century.

Close to Stanwick is a major archaeological site.

Ringtead was the birthplace of Alf Roberts, the father of Margaret Thatcher.

It was also the birthplace of William Tuttle, who settled in Massachussets in 1636. His extraordinary list of descendants includes Annette Bening; Humphrey Bogart; Winston Churchill; Gerald Ford; Ernest Hemingway; O. Henry; Bob Newhart; Lester Pearson; and Norman Rockwell.
