Rettendon
Rettendon is a widely spread village in Essex, on a hillside overlooking the tidal River Crouch and 3 miles from Wickford.
The parish church has a prominent 15th century tower, and a vestry converted from a 15th century priest`s house. There is a 30 foot high 18th century monument.
Hyde Hall Gardens are run by the Royal Horticultural Society, and have a fine national reputation.
Nearby is Hanningfield Reservoir.
