Poole

Poole is a town and seaport in Dorset, 4 miles from Bournemouth and on Poole Harbour.

A port since the Middle Ages, it is now an important setting off point for ships travelling to the Channel Islands.

St. James`s Church was built in 1820.

Among the fine buildings in the old town are the Custom House, built in 1813, the 1761 Guildhall, and a 15th century warehouse which now houses the Waterfront Museum.

Poole Pottery is situated on the quay.
