Petersfield

Petersfield is a pleasant market town in Hampshire, 12 miles from Havant. Its charter was granted in the 12th century.

During the 18th century it become an important stop on the London to Portsmouth road.

St. Peter`s Church dates back to the Norman period.

The Market Place has an equestrian statue of William III, dressed as a Roman. It was erected in 1724.

The Spain is named after Spanish merchants who came here to buy wool, while Music Hill refers to the military bands who played here in the 18th century.
