Moreton (Dorset)
Moreton is a small village in Dorset, 4 miles from Puddletown, beside the River Frome and the heathland known to Thomas Hardy as Egdon Heath..
St. Magnus and St. Nicholas Church, rebuilt in the 1700s, has a wonderful collection of etched windows by Laurence Whistler created in the 1950s. It was the scene of T.E.Lawrence`s funeral in 1935.
Lawrence himself (Lawrence of Arabia) is buried in the detached graveyard just up the lane.
